Courses in Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan

Welcome! This class aims at giving you a good understanding of how to perform tai chi and qi gong to improve your health and quality of life. Please remember to consult your primary healthcare provider before conducting any rigorous exercise program.

Tai chi, also known as Tai Ji, means supreme ultimate. It is an exercise designed with multiple purposes, included to improve overall health, vitaligity, agility, calmness, improve breathing and circulation, and also has be practiced by many as a form of self defense.

Tai chi has grown and developed under the principles of opposites, which has many correlated theories with current bio-science. In movements you will notice small subtleties such as movement with stillness, hardness with softness, empty and solid positions.  It’s through recognition of opposites and how they interact that gives us a basis for tai chi.

This short yang style was originated by Dr. Chiao Nien Wang and taught at SCUHS (Southern California University of Health Sciences, Whittier), a graduate school for Acupuncture studies. The form was designed with more emphasis on the health and qi moving aspects of tai chi and qi gong practice. It was taught to us as students, and being a devoted student I continued to practice the form for over 15 years. This basic beginning form is designed to introduce students to the pure concepts of tai chi that can understood and develop good basics.

Welcome to our transformative courses that integrates the ancient practices of Tai Chi and Qi Gong with mindfulness and meditation, offering you a holistic path to stress relief and enhanced well-being. Our primary objective is to equip you with a comprehensive understanding of these gentle exercises, tailored to alleviate stress and enrich your quality of life. Before embarking on any rigorous exercise program, we kindly recommend consulting your primary healthcare provider.

Tai Chi for Stress Relief

Tai Chi, often referred to as Tai Ji, offers a profound journey toward stress relief. In our modern, fast-paced world, we often find ourselves distanced from our natural state of being due to the relentless demands of contemporary life. Through the practice of Tai Chi, we aspire to guide you back to a state of inner equilibrium and tranquility—much like witnessing a lizard breathe slowly amid the serene landscape of the Angeles Crest mountains.

Tai Chi For Self Defense and Fitness

Tai Chi Chuan not only embodies martial arts prowess but also serves as a gateway to cultivating strength, both physically and mentally. This balance between the external and internal aspects of Tai Chi enhances its stress-relieving benefits, allowing you to navigate the challenges of daily life with grace and resilience. Rooted in the profound principles of yin and yang, Tai Chi finds harmony with contemporary bio-sciences and western philosophies. As you engage in the fluid and mindful movements, you'll uncover the exquisite interplay between motion and stillness, strength and softness, and the delicate dance of empty and solid positions.

Meditation and Mindfulness Training Is In The Program

Furthermore, our sessions feature a dedicated segment focusing on mindfulness and meditation. This addition aims to deepen your mind-body connection and enhance your capacity to manage stress. By seamlessly weaving mindfulness into the fabric of Tai Chi, we empower you to cultivate present-moment awareness and embrace a state of serene contemplation to help you handle any stressful times. Join us on this holistic journey toward tranquility, well-being, and renewed alignment with your natural state. Experience the synergistic blend of Tai Chi, mindfulness, and meditation as a transformative path to stress reducing, professional and personal life balance.
